Hi, welcome to my site!
I'm Apurva from Houston, TX. I'm a cloud engineer at Amazon Web Services working on enterprise VPC architecture, WAF, Route 53, and network infrastructure. I studied computer science at the University of Michigan and before that grew up a bit all over the place, spending about four and a half years living in France and attending the American School of Paris for middle school.
Living abroad, learning French, and being surrounded by so many different perspectives early on turned me into a global affairs nerd. That carried into debate and Model UN in high school, which became my main thing. When COVID shut down university conferences in 2020, I co-founded GLOMUN, one of the first fully online Model UN conferences (250+ attendees, featured on Best Delegate and All American MUN). I later served as Secretary General of North America on MUN Impact's global leadership team, focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
That SDG work is actually what led me to build AquaSDG recently, an AI water security tool using Google's Groundsource data that I'm continuing to expand. At Michigan I received $15K in funding through EECS 495 with Prof. Chesney to build SmartDose, an IoT medication adherence platform with ESP32 hardware, React Native, and a DynamoDB backend (selected 1 of 10 out of 50+ proposals). These days I'm mostly building cloud infrastructure tooling, ML models, and multi-agent systems. My latest project is a wine quality and price predictor trained on 130K reviews.
Outside of work I watch too much F1, read too much about wine, and Michigan football runs through my blood. Most days you'll find me skiing, golfing, or finding something new to add to Beli. Thanks for stopping by!
